Date: For Immediate Release — July 2009 Parma - Deloitte, an accounting and consulting firm, celebrated the 10th anniversary of Impact Day, an annual salute to its culture of service by encouraging its more than 40,000 employees nationwide to volunteer their time helping nonprofit organizations on this day. This year, two of the beneficiaries of Deloitte’s act of kindness were Mount Alverna Village, a senior living community, and Holy Family Hospice, both in Parma. Recently, Deloitte sent 50 volunteers to Mount Alverna Village to plant flowers and lay down mulch. Also, an additional eight volunteers spent time with the assisted living and skilled nursing residents bowling and enjoying a tea party, while a set of volunteers cleaned walls, windows and laundry carts, painted, performed landscaping and built a shrine path at Holy Family Hospice. “Deloitte will save Mount Alverna Village an entire summer’s worth of labor,” said Patrick Welsh, executive director for Mount Alverna Village. “We are very appreciative of Deloitte not only paying for the flowers and mulch, but allowing their employees to make a positive difference in the lives of our residents.” |
